EMAIL MIGRATION

Dear colleagues, docents and students,

We would like to inform you about the progress of the first stage of migration to Microsoft 365, particularly about the migration of your e-mails to Microsoft Exchange.

Thanks to your cooperation your e-mails have been succesfully transferred to the new Outlook environment and also some of the settings and structure of the folders have been preserved.

We would like to thank you for your cooperation during this big system transfer!

However, after the migration unexpected problems may occur for some users. The most common problems and their solutions can be found in this newsletter …

STARTING OUTLOOK FOR FIRST TIME

If you do not see any e-mails (Outlook seems to be empty) after starting Outlook for the first time on you computer (desktop version), please wait a few minutes. Outlook is synchronizing your mailbox and this synchronization may take a while.

If you still do not see all your e-mails, after a while, please send an e-mail to  helpdesk.amu.cz. We will solve the problem for you.
 

ENGLISH NAMES OF THE SYSTEM FOLDERS

If you have a folder structure in Outlook both in czech and English, this as following:

- Inbox
- Doručená pošta
- Sent Items
- Odeslaná pošta
- Calendar
- Kalendář

… and you would like to use the czech folders only, please follow the instructions here.
 

MY STRUCTURE OF E-MAIL MESSAGES

If you cannot find the old folder structure that you had in GroupWise/Roundcube, please have a look in the folder „Cabinet“. You might be able to find you original folders there.

If your folders will not be there either and you need them, please turn to helpdesk.amu.cz. We will solve the problem for you.
 

CONTACT SEARCH

Outlook (desktop version) always searches from left to right only. This means that it searches in the contact list by person’s first name.

If you want to search e.g. by last name, please follow the tutorial here.
 

SPAM

If e-mails that are not spam end up in the Junk Email folder and you want to receive them in your regular inbox, please follow the instructions here.
 

GROUPWISE/ROUNDCUBE

The access to you old GroupWise/Roundcube e-mail client is now restricted to view the history only. You can log in to the client on the website mail.amu.cz. There you will find you old e-mails that you received from Friday 21.8.2020 from 18:00. You will have the access untill 30.9.2020.
