MIGRATION TO MICROSOFT 365

INTRODUCTION OF UPCOMING CHANGES

Dear colleagues, docents and students,

This year at AMU we will gradually going to switch to the Microsoft 365 services. This migration will also include some important changes to accessing services, such as mailboxes and shared files. Gradually we will also update all computers running Windows 7 to the current version of Windows 10.

For the purpose of this migration we have created website migrace.amu.cz. There you can find additional information regarding the migration to the new Microsoft 365 services. We will regularly post news and updates and you will also find there information about how this migration will affect you.

We would like to ask you to be observant in this matter, to follow the news on that website and to pay attention to the important emails in which we will keep you updated on the procedure of transition to the new services as well. We will share the information that will help you with orientation in use of the new services.

WHAT IS MICROSOFT 365 AND THE BENEFITS

Microsoft 365 is a set of services that brings the latest team collaboration features into one environment. It includes not just Office desktop applications that you are familiar with - such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel, but also OneDrive online storage and cloud features that allow you to collaborate on files in real time. In addition to email, you will also be able to use the Teams platform to communicate with colleagues and students, which allows you to send text messages, but also to make audio/video calls and share content from your devices.

You can use all these services not only on PCs and MACs, but also on Android and iOS tablets and phones. In addition, you can access these services from your private devices, including the installation of Office desktop applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
